Submissions

Open Call for Submissions for our publication “Archive”

For this publication we are looking for Enthusiast created projects.  Individual issues will feature either a long form project from a single photographer with 20 – 30 images organized around a central theme or themed, multi contributor issues featuring short projects from 4 photographers with 10 – 12 images each.

Photographers whose projects are selected for Archive will receive:

  1. A $250/$75 Stipend (Entire Issue)/(Multi Contributor Issue)

  2. 5 Complimentary, numbered "Artist" copies for keepsake or promotional purposes.

  3. A product page on our site where fans or prospects can be referred to see your work featured in print.

We are currently looking for:

  • Full Length Projects of 20 – 30 images

  • Short Series for an Issue titled “Light and Shadows”

  • Short series of travel based images, artistically collected with a cell phone.

To submit a project for consideration, please send an email to F2.8Press@outlook.com with the following items:

  1. “Submission” as the Subject of your e-mail.

  2. In the body of your e-mail:

    1. The Title of your project

    2. A single paragraph describing your project. (we can expand on this if your project is chosen for publication)

    3. Your complete name as you would wish it to be presented.

  3. As attachment(s) include your electronic images, preferably in a zipped file, formatted in the following manner:

    1. Saved as a low res image (~72 dpi for example) 1400 pixels on the long side. The low res format is to facilitate handling and storage at this early phase. If we go to publication we will request larger, high res images.

    2. If you have a sequence in mind for these images, please number them in a logical order. If you have no sequence in mind we can assist with sequencing and a final curation.

Once you send in a submission, what happens next?

  1. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from us letting you know that we received your images.

  2. We will be loading and storing your images onto a photo storage platform that will allow editors to anonymously review your images. Links to this platform will not be publicly available.

  3. Allow us a month to review your project.

  4. If your project is selected, we will notify you to discuss next steps to move forward.

  5. There is a chance we will love your work and want to work with you to find a different way to present it:

    1. We may include your project in a list of finalists for consideration further down the road. For example, within a publication year, we want to present a variety of genres. If we receive several outstanding submissions in a single genre, we may look to spread that content out.

    2. We like elements of your project and would like to present it in an issue that features shorter projects from multiple photographers. Your project may be an inspiration and we will do a specific call to find projects to compliment yours.

    3. We like your project but it does not fit with the type of content we have envisioned for Archive. In cases like this, we may contact you about publishing it as a stand alone item.

  6. Finally, if we do decide to not work with your submission, we will share that with you as well.

We anticipate seeing a variety of interesting work and will remain open minded and inclusive in the selection process.  If your work is not initially selected, please do not be discouraged.  The right opportunity simply has not come along yet.

Thank You for your time and interest.  We hope to grow something special here and would be honored to have you involved.
