Artist News:
Alexander Toms – “40.47308° N, 86.12829°, Haynes to Chrysler, Kokomo Casting Plant”
Contributing Editor Alexander Toms recently displayed work as part of a group show highlighting emerging artists at the Aurora Photo Center in Indianapolis. His work featured elements of his explorations of the deserted and abandoned Chrysler Motors facility in Kokomo, Indiana. The displayed pieces were assembled using photographs, found graphic elements (blueprints) and custom fabrication of support materials.
Elements from this body of work will be on display again as part of a two - person show being held at the Kokomo Arts Gallery, opening July 5th and will run for the full month of July.
John Pemberton – Glimpses at the Conservatory
F2.8 Press recently pitched, planned and executed our first pop-up exhibition featuring work published by F2.8. “Glimpses at the Conservatory” ran in May at The Garfield Park Conservatory and Sunken Garden in Indianapolis and was a month-long exhibition of work from John Pemberton and the first issue of Archive.
A crowdsourced fundraising campaign helped get the project off the ground, exhibition pieces were custom fabricated, curated and hung the final exhibition and organized the exhibition’s opening event. After the show closed, all pieces and collateral were donated to the conservatory for their fundraising efforts.
The exhibition featured a large display of images in the Gazebo Room curated by Contributing Editor Alexander Toms and a smaller montage inside the conservatory itself.
Lawrence Lazare – “The Museum Gaze”
In April, Museum Guard Wolfgang Tillmans Show, won Best in Show at the 2024 University of West Florida student art show. The image was featured in Lawrence’s Archive Monograph, “The Museum Gaze”.
